Guinness World Record achieved!!
Swimming at 6405m altitude in Himalayas

With only one month of preparation for this extreme feat and no mountaineering experience, Deniz Kayadelen alongside the Madswimmers team has broken a new World Record by swimming in the highest lake on Earth on peak Putha Hiunchuli in the Himalayas. MY SWIMMING JOURNEY

HIMALAYAS WORLD RECORD 2024

Guinness World Record achieved: we ascended the Himalayas to swim in the highest body of water on Earth. We went up peak Putha Hiunchuli and swam at 6405m above sea level. The expedition lasted 20 days and involved a team of swimmers, medical personnel, and cameramen, many of whom lacked mountaineering experience, like me!!

CATALINA CHANNEL SWIM 2024

Is a 32.5km swim between Santa Catalina Island and Southern California, USA. It is part of the Oceans Seven and Triple Crown of Open Water Swimming challenges. It is one of the World's Top 100 Open Water Swims and one of the World's Top 100 Island Swims.

MANHATTAN SWIM 2024

The 20 Bridges Swim is a 28.5-mile / 45.9 km circumnavigation around the island of Manhattan via the East River, Harlem River, and Hudson River, under its 20 bridges. New York Open Water, which now hosts the event, conducts a series of four swims each summer composed of up to 15 participants. The feat is part of open-water swimming's triple crown, along with the English Channel and Catalina Channel.

ENGLISH CHANNEL SOLO SWIM 2023

The English Channel is the body of water that separates England from France, approximately a 33 km swim, depending on the tide. Water temperatures in the Channel in the summer range between 15 to 18 degrees, well below what many pool and open water swimmers are used to. This is one of the most historically significant marathon swims.

ENGLISH CHANNEL RELAY SWIM 2019

A relay swim shares the same conditions as a solo swim; the rules are the same (no wetsuit, no boat touching, etc.), and the distance is the same. The difference is that the relay is a team effort, in this case, we were 4 swimmers: Deniz Kayadelen, Raha Akhavan, Emre Deliveli, and Darren Watson; and we took turns to enter the water.

NORTH CHANNEL 2019

North Channel Relay Swimmer from Ireland to Scottland, 2019
The North Channel swim is approximately the same distance as the English Channel, but it has two major differences. The first is the sea temperature, which can be 3-5 degrees lower and the second is the hundreds of Lions Mane jellyfish which plague the Channel during the summer months and are for the most part unavoidable.
