OUT OF COMFORT ZONE BOOTCAMP
First Bootcamp of the year!
Alongside going into the ice water, we worked with different exercises to reflect and visualize the roadmap we will follow this year to create a better version of ourselves. We started with a Keynote speech about unlocking potential, followed by a self-reflection exercise. We worked with peer coaching, group reflection, journaling, future-self exercise, meditation, and breathing exercises to prepare for the cold water. Finally, we entered the cold water - an immersive, transformational experience- to get all the benefits of inducing some controlled stress on the body so it would respond by building endurance and growing in resilience.
"With no control whatsoever I ran straight into the water, up to my waist. It was freezing, my legs started to shout out to me. My body and my mind were both convinced that I just needed to get out, and to get out now. I’m an incredibly stubborn person and very rarely will I allow my mind to be changed. "Ever heard the phrase, “Growth starts where your comfort zone ends”? That was put to the test for me recently during a cold water immersion bootcamp—and let me tell you, it was as challenging as it was transformative. Picture this: standing at the edge of lake Zürich in Nov (4 degrees outside), every fiber of your body screaming, “No way!” But then, you take the plunge, and something incredible happens. You feel alive. Energized. Capable of more than you ever thought possible.
Here’s what this out-of-comfort-zone experience taught me:
1️⃣ Your mind is your biggest limiter. The cold was real, but the fear of discomfort was louder. Pushing past it reminded me how often we stop ourselves before even trying.
2️⃣ Presence is where the magic happens. In the water, there’s no room for distraction—just you, your breath, and the moment. It’s a complete reset for a cluttered mind.
3️⃣ Growth is never easy, but it’s always worth it. Each step further, I got a little braver, a little stronger, and a little more convinced that resilience builds with practice.
Cold water immersion might not be for everyone, but the principle is universal: Step into discomfort, and that’s where the magic happens. Life is a roller coaster, so whether it’s starting something new, taking a risk, or literally jumping into cold water, the key to unlocking your potential is embracing the challenge.

"Today I attended “Out of Comfort Zone” bootcamp designed and led by an amazing Deniz Kayadelen. While having some expectations, curiosity to grow and push myself out of comfort kept my mind open. COLD WATER CHALLENGE 2023
COLABORATION WITH ALAIA BAY
World champion in ice swimming and psychologist Deniz Kayadelen coached 15 influencers how to embrace the cold water so they can surf on Alaia Bay without wetsuit. The influencers had a perfect preparation with the inspirational key note speech if Deniz and they continued with meditation and breathing excercise. They went out of their comfort zone, challenged themselves, and had some transformational effects after this water challenge.
